Spring has sprung, and the Trout are looking up. Henderson’s along with Caddis are starting to show up in Roscoe NY. In New Jersey, the south branch has had it’s Henderson Hatch and it may be over. Caddis are working on top and the usual eggs and small nymphs are working down below.
News from NJ Fish and Wildlife:The middle parking lot in the Ken Lockwood Gorge is closed. The road is washed out and unrepairable. So if you fish the gorge, be prepared to walk a ways.
We held our first meeting outside on April 20th since the pandemic began over a year ago! We had a few members show up, and we are planning on having our next meeting Tuesday, May 18, 2021 @ 7pm. Bring a chair, mask and soft drink. Social distancing guidlines will be observed.
Once again our yearly Catskill trip is scheduled for May 20-25 2021. If you wish to fish the West Branch, try and stay at Troutfitters in Deposit. Also Smith Colonial in Hancock may have rooms. If you fish the West Branch, apple or tan caddis and maybe Hendersons will be the ticket. You can reach out to me here to ask questions or get additional information about the trip.
Let's all be safe, wear a mask, and get vaccinated when you can.
